The uplifting story of a young athlete, Samia by Yasemin Samderelli. Samia is based on the book Don’t Tell Me You’re Afraid by Giuseppe Catozzella and inspired by the true story of young Somalian sprinter Samia Yusuf.

At the age of nine, Samia Yusuf Omar discovers that she can run faster than anyone else. She and her best friend Ali hatch a plan to use this talent to become rich and famous. But then civil war breaks out in Somalia and things are no longer the same. Samia won’t let this stop her, however. She continues to race to the top, both in her own country and in exile.
