For Immediate Release – Films We Like announced today the acquisition of Lila Avilés’ heart-breaking family drama Totem, winner of the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury at the recent Berlin International Film Festival, where it had its world premiere. Totem is the 2nd feature film from admired Mexican actor and director, whose previous film The Chambermaid premiered at TIFF in 2018.
The family of a young father dying of cancer organize a surprise party for him in this tender story where his young daughter watches the on-goings knowing that her world is about to dramatically change.
